SOLE TO SOUL is a production of Indian Classical Dance Kathak with Lajja Sambhavnath and the Dance Group of The Hindu Community of Portugal, with live music.
A mesmerizing experience that begins at the root of the body of the dancers, their feet, to reach the soul of the audience. This piece has a contemporary tone applied to what is the vocabulary of movement and the presentation format of traditional Kathak, manifesting the beauty and intimate way that dance and live recorded music are designed with. Inspired by the storytelling traditions of India, the mysticism of the Sufi, the passion of Islamic music formats and Persian music, the experience is somewhat spiritual and aesthetic.
Sole to Soul is made by the feet of the dancer, departs from the ballerina’s soul, to the soul of the audience.
