Portugal: Introduction to Permaculture with Laura Williams, Pete Bampton & Annelieke van der Sluijs

Pete Bampton co-founder of the Awakened Life Project will give an Introduction Course to Permaculture in collaboration with Laura Williams and Annelieke van der Sluijs. Are you interested in permaculture and in learning practical steps to live a more sustainable life with like-minded people? Would you would like to experience a full weekend of presentations, films and practicals on a working permaculture project set in a landscape of beautiful mountains and waterfalls ?… then this Weekend Weekend Introduction to Permaculture is for you!
The weekend will include presentations on permaculture ethics and principles and examples of permaculture in action both in rural and urban environments. According to interests of participants, subjects like forest gardening, bee friendly beekeeping, wild edibles, raised bed gardening, and water strategies can be touched. These sessions will be combined with practical action learning on the quinta and some relaxation time watching films. Based on these experiences you will be able to reflect on changes you can make in your own life, no matter where you live.
We are willing to share all we are learning about applying permaculture priniciples to this Project. You will experience living simply and close to nature in a beautiful secluded setting, eat fresh organic, mostly raw foods and practice ecological sustainability (through foraging for food, living off-grid, and using our compost toilet).
Practical Aspects
Participants will arrive on April1st, Friday evening between 6-7 pm. We will have hot soup and a short introduction and film. Then on Saturday a full day of presentations and practicals, which will continue until we finish on Sunday afternoon after lunch around 4pm.
Accommodation will be in our mongolian yurt, tent or a dormitory room with mattresses on the floor.
