Lisbon: Workshop on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Self-sustainability

| 05-29, 2009

Lisbon – Portugal | 19 to 21 June 2009 at Casa Vinyasa

Tarik van Prehn, pioneer of the Ashtanga Yoga in Portugal, gives a Workshop on Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Self-sustainability, with the title “How to develop a self-sustainable lifestyle through the practice of Yoga“. This event will take place at Casa Vinyasa in Lisbon.

“The only way out … is inside …”

Humanity is now faced with a new energetic paradigm. We consume more energy than we generate

When a “system” does not find a solution for an equation in enters a “Crisis” and the crisis we have today is nothing but a crisis of “Conscience” for which the answers and the solutions are not outside, but within each one.

Meditation in Motion

The Ashtanga Vinyasa is a traditional Yoga system developed in the South of India by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. It is characterized by the coordination of movement and breathing. It follows a specific methodology that must be used correctly in a sequence of postures (Ásana). Its regular practice allows us to reconnect with our “Energy Centre” so that we can resume control of our mind and our senses.

Traditional Ashtanga Yoga (open to beginners and advanced):

Mysore Style: Traditional method of teaching where beginners and advanced practitioners progress together in a series of specific postures. Each one at his our her own pace.

Guided Lessons: All practitioners perform simultaneously the same sequence of postures. The guided classes emphasize the correct count of the Vinyasa.

Afternoon Course:

In the Workshop on Self-sustainability through the Ashtanga Yoga, Tarik Leads us in a fluid and relaxed way, in a process self–investigation and re-evaluation of the purposes of the practice, and how to apply its concepts in daily life.

Why practice ? What is the purpose ?

When refining and redirecting our intention and attitude before the practice and life, we can consciously remove the constraints that prevent us from accessing our “power centre” and to act upon that point of balance, making it possible to express peace, freedom and abundance in our lives.

Satsang I:

Crisis, prospects, opportunities, change.

A joint analysis of how to understand the current paradigm and face the challenges offered.

Satsang II:

How to develop a self-sustainable lifestyle through the practice of Ashtanga Yoga. Theoretical and practical tools to face the challenges.

Satsang III:

Life, death and transcendence. Beginning or end ? Illusion and reality ?

Yoganidra and Sankalpa:

Most people do not know what they want in life. Few know what they really want. And among those who know what they want, only a small minority are able to express their wishes.

In this workshop students will be initiated in a meditation technique called Sankalpa, used during the Yoganidra. Sankalpa is an affirmative and conscious inner resolution that allows the Yogi to express what he or she wants in life. During the three days we will explore together the ability to co-create our reality.
