Portugal: Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche in Lisbon to Give Teachings
Kangyur Rinpoche Foundation informs about the presence of Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche in Lisbon, where he will give teachings.
Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche was born in 1932 in Kham, Eastern Tibet. His education took place initially in the monasteries of Benchen and Palpung, under the guidance of the 9th Sangye Nyempa Rinpoche (brother of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche), and the previous Situ Rinpoche and Jamgon Rinpoche. After leaving Tibet, in 1959, he settled in Sikkim, where he remained for 17 years with H.H. the XVI Karmapa. Tenga Rinpoche was also a disciple of Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche and Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche.
Since 1976 Tenga Rinpoche lives in Nepal, where he established the Benchen Phuntsok Dargyelin Monastery and a Retreat Centre in Pharping (www.benchen.org). He is also the founder of Centers in Poland, Italy and Germany.
Kyabje Tenga Rinpoche is one of the few Masters holding the unbroken lineage of the Karma Kagyu tradition of the Tibetan Buddhism. His second visit to Portugal is a rare and precious opportunity for contacting with a great master of today.
